Venda hens begin laying eggs at approximately 5-6 months of age. They are considered good layers among indigenous breeds, producing around 180 to 200 light beige eggs per year. In addition to being reliable layers, Venda hens are excellent brooders and attentive mothers. Their strong maternal instincts make them particularly effective in natural rearing systems without the need for artificial incubators.
