Boschvelder hens begin laying at around 5-6 months of age and will produce approximately 180-200 light brown or cream-coloured eggs per year. They are also known for being good brooders and attentive mothers. Their strong maternal instincts allow them to raise chicks effectively without intervention, making them well suited to traditional and low-input farming systems.
