DAY-OLD CHICKS (Lohmann Brown & Hy-Line Brown / Silver)
A & B Poultry Supply t/a Curions (Pty) Ltd supplies A-Grade, healthy, strong day-old chicks, all:
Vaccinated on day one in accordance with South African regulations
Professionally sexed (layer pullets only – no cockerels)
Supplied in boxes of 101 chicks, with customers charged for 100 chicks only
Infra-Red Beak Treatment (IRBT) can be arranged upon client request and will be quoted separately.
We do not supply mixed-sex boxes.
TRANSPORTATION & DELIVERY CARE
We place the highest priority on chick welfare during transport. Our delivery protocols include:
Careful driving practices (no speeding, harsh braking, or reckless driving)
Route planning using national roads wherever possible
Minimising stress, temperature fluctuation, and handling time
Ownership transfers to the client after inspection at delivery or collection, ensuring transparency and confidence.
Should mortality be detected during offload inspection, we work with our clients to resolve the matter fairly.
If mortality exceeds 5% per box upon delivery, A & B Poultry Supply t/a Curions (Pty) Ltd will replace the excess mortality or issue a bank refund for the affected quantity within 14 working days, supported by a clear audit trail.
ORDERING & PAYMENT TERMS
Official invoices are valid for 7 days from issue date
Full EFT payment is required within this period to secure the order
Payment references must include client name, surname, and invoice number
Proof of payment must be submitted via email or WhatsApp
Cash deposits are accepted, with a 10% banking handling surcharge.
Once payment reflects, the order is confirmed and production scheduled.
HATCH-ON-DEMAND PROCESS
We operate on a hatch-on-demand model to ensure freshness and quality.
After payment confirmation:
Fertile eggs are scheduled for incubation
A lead time of 3-4 days  applies prior to delivery or collection
If payment is not received within the invoice validity period, the order is cancelled and may be rescheduled according to availability.
ROAD DELIVERIES
Delivery is arranged FREE on all orders above R3,499.00 with route planning based on order volumes.
We commit to:
Clear communication of delivery dates, times, and meeting points
Professional handling and punctual service
Clients are required to be available at the agreed delivery point to ensure smooth handover and chick welfare.
AIRFREIGHT CARGO DELIVERIES
For airfreight orders:
Cargo bookings are handled by A & B Poultry Supply t/a Curions (Pty) Ltd
Clients receive airway bill tracking details
Chicks are booked in at OR Tambo Cargo at least 2.5 hours prior to departure
Clients must collect on the scheduled date with valid identification and airway bill details.
Upon handover to cargo services, clients are encouraged to inspect shipments immediately and report any concerns so we can assist promptly.
FERTILE HATCHING EGGS
We strive to supply fertile eggs with 90-95%+ fertility, supported by:
Controlled egg storage procedures
Professionally managed breeding stock
SAPA-aligned farm practices
As fertility and hatchability are influenced by multiple external factors (incubation, handling, transport, operator expertise), we work closely with customers to provide guidance and best-practice support.
COURIERED EGG DELIVERIES
We use reputable third-party couriers for egg transport. Clients are encouraged to:
Inspect deliveries immediately
Report any visible damage upon receipt
Provide photographic evidence where necessary
This allows us to assist swiftly and fairly.
CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING
Due to the biological nature of poultry production:
Orders already in production cannot be reversed
In the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., hatch delays, biosecurity events), we will reschedule delivery dates in consultation with the client
Our goal is always to fulfil orders responsibly and transparently, maintaining livestock welfare as the highest priority.
REFUNDS & ADJUSTMENTS
Refunds are not standard once production has commenced. However, A & B Poultry Supply t/a Curions (Pty) Ltd commits to:
Fair resolution of verified delivery or quality issues
Transparent communication
Replacement or credit arrangements where applicable and justified
